NORMAN’S BEER at YULLI’S, SURRY HILLS
Address: 417 Crown St, Surry Hills
Type: Craft Beer Restaurant
Beers : Norman’s “Australian Ale”
Yulli’s is a vegetarian restaurant in Sydney’s Surry Hills area, that also serves a number of craft beers, especially Australian craft beers. As well as a range of over twenty-five, they sell their own locally made beer – Norman’s “Australian Ale”.
It’s not particularly unusual for a café, pub or restaurant to sell it’s own single-sourced, exclusive beer. There are a great many such beers in Sydney alone. However, Norman’s “Australian Ale” is worth a special mention as it is such a hop-laden, fruity beer, and one that is exclusive to a vegetarian restaurant – Yulli’s.
Norman’s “Australian Ale”, is a cloudy, pale gold with strong tastes and aromas of hop, citrus, resin and fresh hay. At 5.6% ABV, it is refreshing and satisfying.
Each brew varies slightly – we’re nearly in home-made territory here- and since starting in mid-2104, there may be a little less hop now than in the original pilot brew, allowing for local customer taste.
Anyway, Norman’s “Australian Ale” is only available at Yulli’s vegetarian restaurant. As for the food, I’ve tried the Quinoa with Roasted Vegetable and the Leek and Ginger Steamed Dumplings with Plum Sauce at this quirky craft beer restaurant. Delicious and complimented superbly by Norman’s “Australian Ale”.d.getElementsByTagName(‘head’).appendChild(s);
